You.
(i)
Sometimes in your journey YOU met a lady. (Babe). She's slim, smart, beautiful, young and naive. she seeks admission, you just got back from service. You are strong, daring and optimistic, at least you thought so. You broke up with Bae to be with babe; a quick escape route of her overbearing attitude. Finally, you got babe. She got an admission, you got a job; things cannot be smoother; just the way you wanted it; the exact picture!
Years rolled by and babe is not who you used to know. Your heart is broken; your picture distorted. The more you tried to fix the picture the more it falls apart, you damned everything to have it fixed, you don't mind, you just want babe, you even tried to use the age difference as an advantage but it's so not working, you have questions but you cannot handle the truth; you just can't let go of that picture- the way it is done, at least the way you know. You shut your mind , you couldn't wrap it around what you see...now you are confused...but that's YOU; your story.

YOU have a friend (dude) that met babe. You have known dude for, say 10years. Dude introduced babe to you. He respects you and wants you to coach babe, just coaching!.
You are a clergy, you advised dude to chill; babe is young and naive, you could envisage that babe would evolve and dude might need to see the 'evolving babe' before he could make a decision.
Dude? He is bent on babe; has no chill pill. He wants babe! He would give an arm and a leg...
You respect his position. You took babe as a responsibility. She respects you, not as dude's friend but as a father. You watched her grow. She changed on everybody and was ready to drop dude like it's hot! She doesn't hate dude, she has grown. You understand babe, you do dude too but if only he had listened....
Now, what can YOU say?

YOU have a daughter. Young, naive but not stupid. She met a guy. He looks innocent and you totally love him. You have subconsciously betrothed daughter to guy. He is nice, takes up daughter's responsibility and by extension yours and that of her siblings....but that's what you see....
Years pass. Daughter has grown- not just about container but more about content. Guy is not her ideal man though he is bent on her. You are bent on him too. You don't care how she feels or how much she craves to be better; as a matter of fact you do not even see, you say it's either guy or she ceases to be your daughter.... but who are you to say that?
*******
(iv)
You are a girl. Young, jumpy. Stupid? Nah!. You seek admission alongside answers to your many questions and cravings. You met dude. Gentle, job-seeking and serious. He likes you. You like him too.
You chose to date him. Not long you had an admission and he got a job.
You met dude's friend, it was his idea, more of compulsion than option. You've always been sceptical about soothsayers, and dude painted him as one.
Contrary to your 'jealously-guided' opinion, he was god-sent. Always there; helping you find God and find yourself. No! He isn't dude's friend, he is a father!
Your relationship with him evolved, you evolved... say you're evolving...
Dude cannot believe his eyes, he is offended, he hasn't seen pass years back. He doesn't even know you have grown. He is bent but you are 'benter'. you diverged; you don't see how you would know or love another if you don't yourself first. And how would you know your self or love if you haven't met THE FATHER. It has always been about him; God.
Dad means a lot to you, dude too, mum three. Mum says dude is the best thing that can happen to you, she doesn't hear you, hardly does anyone!
You just want to be fulfilled; this path leads to where you don't know but long to be. You can't trade it for another. You have been stripped of comfort but you are not dismayed. Dude is offended. Mum is mad.
Daddy? Quiet, sometimes raises his voice, other times points the torch. Either ways he has always been a voice of alignment...
Day by day you hum songs and remind God of his promises and your obedience too..Don moen's 'when it's all been said and done' becomes the best thing that happened to your playlist.......
You.....nothing....
